You can tell where the old dialogue I wrote ended and the new stuff begins, but I did try to transition from the old style to my current as the scenes went on. Now, I won't ignore the big issue; this old dialogue does completely take off Dalek (2005). Even the art I made isn't hiding it. However, the new scenes are their own thing. The idea for this remaster was to make it about survivor's guilt. seeing an old enemy in such paun that they are beyond help, and dealing with the emotional fallout. I don't think it fully sticks the landing, but that is because of the two sets of ideas being pushed together. I'm not the same writer I was in 2015. So, it was either try to emulater the old style, or go for something new. Despite its rough start, I hope this can bring people some solace. That if someone you know is in pain, that they don't have to do what this old warrior did, and that if someone does, it isn't your fault. I also want to adress this: Scarlet asking if he wants to go isn't so much encourtagement, it's more like seeing someone who is very sick, and on life support. These are deep topics that I don't believe a rewrite of a decade+ old fanfic can cover. If I do anything more with these ideas, it will be in something completely new.
